James (Jim) Kelley started Interrail Engineering in 1997 after 18 years with L&N/CSXT. Prior to leaving CSXT, Jim had advanced to Signal Supervisor and was designing and engineering signal systems on the hood of his truck in the field. This compelled him to start a company that would provide these much-needed services to railroads. Over the years, Interrail expanded to also include construction services, products, and product development.
Although Jim passed away in 2013, the company has continued to successfully grow under the leadership of his wife, Chryol Kelley, their children, and the unwavering support of very knowledgeable employees strategically placed in leadership positions. It is our vision to continue to diversify, grow, and provide railroads with expert services to meet and exceed their signal and communication needs.
