Railway Systems Suppliers, Inc. (RSSI) is sponsoring a seminar on the provisions of Part 8 of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The seminar will be presented by Bruce Friedman of the Federal Highway Administration and will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, TX on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The seminar is being held in conjunction with the RSSI 56th Annual C&S Exhibition, which opens at 9:00am on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 in Exhibit Halls A thru D of the Gaylord Texan Resort. Rail and transit employees may attend the seminar at no charge. All other attendees will be charged a fee of $100.00 to offset the cost of lunch and other associated costs.

9:30am – 10:00am - check in for the seminar at the RSSI Exhibition Registration Desk located outside of Exhibit Halls C&D.
10:00am – 12:00pm – Morning seminar presentation
12:00pm – 12:45pm – Lunch provided to all attendees
12:45pm – 3:00pm – Afternoon seminar presentation
3:00pm – 4:00pm – Q&A
Coffee, tea, water and soft drinks will be available throughout the day.
Mr. Friedman will discuss the history, development, and contents of the 2009 MUTCD with an emphasis on Part 8. The discussions will also include topics such as compliance dates, interpretations, and experimentation. Mr. Friedman will also talk about the recommendations for additions and revisions to the MUTCD that the Federal Highway Administration has received since 2009 from the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The seminar will also explain how the rail, transit, and supply companies can offer their suggestions and input to any future proposed changes.
